Alliant’s data is contributed by clients under a cooperative database agreement — ensuring that the data is always fresh and reflects current consumer behavior. The agreement specifies that access to the data is limited solely to analytic applications — Alliant does not sell mailing lists based on contributor names and addresses. Data is only used as an aggregated consumer record — a contributor’s customers, and the contributors themselves, are never revealed.
Contribution to at least one of the Alliant databases is required for clients after a test period of approximately one year. Most companies elect to become data contributors because experience has shown that incorporating their own data into the co-op produces an additional 6-9% lift in their solutions (after models are redeveloped). In addition, contributors are entitled to reductions in scoring and data licensing fees, further enhancing their value.
